We left Shillong after lunch on the 19th and reached Guhati around 7 in the evening. Since TNT la would not be able to go everywhere, some supporters were able to arrange so that representatives from Bomdilla, Tenzingang and Tawang had an opportunity to meet with Tenzin Namgyal Tethong la on the evening of the 19th in Guwahati.
Most of them had travelled for a day or two to be in Guwahati and TNT la thanked them for making it to Guwahati and spoke to them about the reasons why he was running for Kalon Tripa and the purpose of the whole campaign trail was so that Tibetans in Exile would be able to hear TNT la speak and at the same time, he would be able to answer their queries and most importantly, he would be able to hear their problems and if elected would have a much better understanding of the lives of Tibetans in various settlements.

Tephun Tenzin Shastri, Principal, Jhamtse Gatsal Children's Community, Tawang India spoke about why he is supporting TNT la and was very vocal about the fact that TNT la should speak more about his own achievements which have contributed a lot to the Tibetans and most of TNT la’s initiatives continue to serve the Tibetan People in a huge way.
Most of the representatives were shy in the beginning but after they got more comfortable, they shared their feelings with TNT la and all of us about their feelings. After a while, it was no longer about the campaign at all but just about listening to their stories.
When we talk about who the next Kalon Tripa should be, we talk about experience, vision and innovation. But in my personal opinion, experience, vision and innovation is important in its own rights but one thing that we Tibetans can’t compromise is on Integrity and I believe Tenzin Namgyal Tethong la is someone that has always lived his life with Integrity.
